Torah Fund Campaign

Our Sisterhood's goal is $2,500
(National goal is over 2 million dollars)
Our scholarship dollars are important!

Women's League for Conservative Judaism, through its affiliated Sisterhoods and Branches has a long and proud record of support for the institutions of Conservative Jewish life.

Torah Fund dollars support the greatest institution of Jewish learning in this country, the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. The Seminary is more than a rabbinical school. The Seminary ensures the continuity of Conservative Judaism. It trains rabbis, cantors and teachers in the skills they will need to serve our congregations and future generations of Jews. The Seminary, through its undergraduate and graduate programs of Judaic studies, educates young people so that they will have the knowledge and the interest to serve as future lay leadership in Jewish institutions and to be committed members of Conservative congregations.

Torah Fund dollars support the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles. Ziegler School graduates go on to serve congregations all across the U.S. and the Masorti world.

Tuition costs range from $12,000 to $21,000 per year. Our letter to the congregation will be in the December billing. Donations start at $18.00. This year's Benefactor Pin, "Tikvah" - Hope ($180.00 donation) is a beautiful piece of jewelry. To date benefactors include:Lorraine Applebaum,Phyllis Brody, Marcia Taple, Catherine Wheaton, and Michelle Konigsburg. We look forward to adding your name to this list. Watch for our letter and please be generous.
